7 Empowering Morning Rituals To Kickstart Your Day

Published almost 2 years ago • 5 min read

Hi Reader and Happy Monday!

Hope you enjoyed the weekend!

Thanks for your loyal support of my weekly newsletter! Due to changes in my schedule, I'm shifting to a bi-weekly newsletter that will go out on the first and third Mondays of each month. I truly appreciate your continued interest and enthusiasm, and if you have a friend or know someone who would be interested and empowered by reading my newsletter, please share this email subscription with them as well!

So I have a serious question for you...Are YOU a Morning person?

When you wake up in the morning, what do you do? Do you hit the snooze button and then rush around trying to get ready for work or to get your kids ready for school? Or do you start your day with a meditation practice that helps you feel peaceful, centered, and focused on what matters most to you?

We all want to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day, but it's not always easy. In fact, some mornings it can seem downright impossible. But what you do in the morning can set the tone for a good day or bad one.

Creating a sense of peace, clarity, and inspiration can be as simple as starting your day with a morning ritual. Rituals are a series of activities that you do on a daily basis in the same order, helping you stay centered and focused no matter what is happening around you. The best part about morning rituals is that they can be whatever you want them to be. You don’t have to follow a specific set of steps or do the same thing every day.

I've found that a simple morning ritual can really change your day for the better. The important thing is to do it every day at the same time, so that it becomes a part of your daily routine.

Start your day with rituals that make you feel powerful and alive. Here are seven empowering morning rituals that will kickstart your day:

1. Wake up with a smile.

Smiling is just one of the many small ways you can positively affect your life. I'm a huge advocate of keeping a positive attitude, and smiling is one way to do that. In fact, research has shown that smiling can have a direct effect on how we feel. When we smile, our bodies release tiny endorphins (chemicals in the brain that cause us to feel happy).

Every morning before you start your day, stand in front of the mirror for a few seconds and focus on your own reflection. Then put a big smile on your face and hold it as long as possible. This may seem silly at first, but if you keep doing it every morning over time your body will learn how to put on a smile without thinking about it.

2. Pray and Meditate.

Prayer and Meditation are my favorite ways to start my day. It helps to center your thoughts and bring clarity to your mind before the rest of the day begins. Prayer helps you focus on what's important in your life and brings strength, comfort, and peace to the soul. It allows you to communicate with God and listen to His will so that you can have a clear vision for the day ahead. Prayer also allows you to reflect on your blessings and thank God for all that He has given you in life.

Meditation is a practice of mindfulness. It's about being in the present moment and focusing on your breathing, thoughts, and emotions. Meditation can help you find more clarity amidst the chaos of daily life so you can be in control of your emotions. It can also help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression which leads to relaxation and peace of mind throughout the day.

3. Drink water.

Drinking water first thing in the morning is a great way to wake up your body and get ready for the day. It’s important to drink enough water every day, but it can be particularly helpful in the morning because it will help flush out toxins that have built up overnight and give you more energy throughout the day. When you drink water first thing in the morning, it helps to hydrate your body, which can boost your energy levels and make you feel more alert. Plus, it's just good for you!

4. Eat a Healthy breakfast.

Eating a healthy breakfast is an excellent way to start your day. It gives you more energy and helps your metabolism kick into gear. That's why it's called the most important meal of the day. Breakfast should be a small meal, because it will keep you feeling full longer than a large meal. Starting your day with a delicious green smoothie filled with essential nutrients and protein is a great option. Green smoothies are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can help boost your immune system and keep you healthy all year long. They are also low in calories and packed with protein which makes them ideal for weight loss.

5. Spend time outdoors.

For a great start to your day, spend some time outside. Getting outside right away in the morning will help get your blood flowing and give you more energy throughout the day. Personally, I enjoy going outside after breakfast and connecting with the beauty of nature. Additionally, spending time outside in the morning adds a little physical activity to your day, boosts your mood, reduces stress, and clears your mind so you can think better.

6. Exercise.

It’s no secret that exercise is good for you. But did you know it can also make you feel more energized and ready to take on your day? All it takes is 15 minutes or more if time allows to energize your body-physically and mentally. It can also help reduce stress, which makes it easier for us to stay calm throughout the rest of our day.

Exercise doesn’t have to be complicated either! You can go for a walk, do yoga or some stretches while listening to your favorite music. The key is finding something that you enjoy doing and sticking with it!

7. Read something inspirational.

If you want to start your day feeling positive, read something inspirational.

Studies have shown that when you start your day with something positive, you are more likely to feel positive throughout the rest of your day. So read something that inspires you to be better than you were yesterday. It can be the bible, a book, magazine article, blog post or poem. Whatever it is, it should make you feel more confident in yourself and resonates with your values and goals in life.

Morning rituals can help you set your day up to be the way you want it to be. Take some time to think about what activities you want to include in your morning ritual, and then schedule them into your calendar so they become habitual. You can change things up if your routine stops working for you, but make sure that it's something that makes sense for your needs and lifestyle. When you do, you'll have more focus, clarity, and peace—and better days!

Be Blessed and Have an Empowered Week!
